The Skin I Live In: The Red-Haired Venus

Robert Ledgard is a plastic surgeon. Years ago, his wife was burned to death in a traffic accident. Haunted by his failure to save her, he devotes himself to developing a new kind of skin that can withstand any injury. To do so, he is willing to cross the boundaries of scientific ethics and conduct experiments involving human genes.

This story mixes in elements from the original novel, The Skin I Live In. Some parts may differ from the film. If you haven't seen it, you can look it up online. It's a Spanish film, and fans of the novel can also read the original.

To be precise, the heroine is reborn. The original owner of her body had an accident and was saved by the doctor. An ambiguous relationship develops between them, giving the doctor a second chance at love. There are scenes of revenge. The doctor's daughter did not die, so there will be no imprisonment like in the film or original novel.

The heroine becomes somewhat dark later on. She has no golden finger and is just an ordinary person, with a bit of an imprinting complex. I'm a huge fan of Antonio Banderas. The heroine will undergo plastic surgery.

The main pairing is a disfigured heroine and a psychologically warped, wealthy, handsome lord in the style of Zorro.
