[The King's Avatar BG] A Love Song for You, Called the Sea

As the title says, a short slice-of-life tale about life at sea. A bullied mermaid and a gentle sailor. One cannot make a sound, yet longs to hear them. The other can't bear to part with someone he spent ten years finding. I can give you every kind of tenderness, except freedom. I can give you all the tender care you could ever need. If you want freedom, jump from here. If you want to get away from me, I won't hold you back. Please give me your trust, without reservation. They say that those who reject everything good in the world become gentler than anyone else. Andersen's The Little Mermaid is the most realistic fairy tale I've ever read. This is a story about a wholly fantastical species, the mermaids. Consider it a tribute to my childhood. Theme:
