The Tofu Beauty

To the west of Meiyou Town stands a stone arch bridge. One side connects to Jili Street, and the other to Ping'an Street, the westernmost street in town. Where Ping'an Street meets the stone bridge stands a household whose head is surnamed Bai. The family has made its living selling tofu for generations. This generation of the Bai family has three daughters and one son. The third daughter is now sixteen and still unmarried. People call her the "Tofu Beauty."
