The Movie Emperor Is a Little White Poplar

A White Snake repaying a debt?

No, this is a story about a little white poplar repaying a debt.

After surviving the lightning tribulation, the white poplar made no progress in its cultivation for years. It could never figure out why, until one day someone happened to read The Legend of the White Snake beneath its branches. The white poplar suddenly understood: it had never repaid its debt of gratitude!

So the little white poplar turned into a human, slung a small bundle over its back, and set off to find its benefactor.

News report: A huge pit was recently discovered beside a northwestern outpost, and a century-old white poplar tree has vanished without a trace. It is suspected to have been stolen.
