She knew all too well that those who kill will be killed in turn. At the end of her life, she prayed to Buddha: “May I, in my next life, attain enlightenment, my body like clear crystal, transparent inside and out, pure and free of all blemishes.” But instead, God let her be reborn in another world with the memories of her previous life. She believed this was God's punishment. Everything she had experienced in her previous life taught her that only by becoming stronger could she protect herself from further harm. Ten years of training had also made her detached and cold.
