[Younger seme/Emperor uke]
I wrote those two tags, and actually wanted to add “one uke, multiple semes” as well, but this isn't an NP story, so I decided against it.
This may not be quite like danmei in the usual sense, so please bear with me!
I have no idea how to write a blurb that sums this up.
In a nutshell, it's about the emotional life behind the political life of an emperor (the uke). (That sounds a little KUSO, but it's honestly a fair summary.)
(Incidentally, the uke is fairly ordinary-looking, while the semes are mostly handsome.)

Everyone meets many people over the course of their life, and no one knows whether the person they meet now will be the last one in their life.
An emperor is bound to meet more people, both great and small, than an ordinary person, yet only a few will truly remain by his side.
Ashes Take Flight is about a man on the throne, and some of the people he meets along the way.
There is no definite happy or tragic ending, which will probably often leave readers feeling they've picked the wrong side.
While writing, I kept wondering whether this kind of story would put people off. Then I decided it was better to finish it the way I wanted! I'm going to stubbornly stick to my own vision on this.
