The first story set on the continent of Sifudel. It tells of a time when demons and gods still coexisted on the continent. The elves, sea folk, dwarves, and beastfolk each sensed that a time of change was approaching in their own domains. Only humanity, which had patiently amassed its strength, remained on the continent in the end and became its master. The age of humanity had begun. Shali is half human and half demon. Her mother is a powerful queen of the succubus clan, while her father is the lord of humanity's largest territory. Their marriage, however, is merely a pact between humans and demons: the demons help humanity gain powerful magic, while humans use their far-reaching presence and network of informants across the continent to provide the demons with clues about the hidden treasures of other races. Shali is the living bond between the two sides. When they begin to distrust each other, the pact's magic takes effect on Shali and turns her mute. This story follows Shali as its main character, briefly describing the various races during an age of great change. It's written rather concisely, so just give it a casual read.
