Flowers in Bloom

The Flowering Tree stands year after year in a withered, defeated state. Its flowers bloom without warning, and its leaves fall without a sound. Its five-colored blossoms are dazzling and graceful as they flutter down in the wind. The leaves of the Flowering Tree can be used in medicine, and its flowers can be eaten. Yet both leaves and blossoms are exceedingly difficult to gather, and harder still to preserve. From the first bloom to the fall of the leaves, only half a day passes. Few are lucky enough to witness it. Across the entire continent, those who encounter the bloom and leaf fall and manage to collect and keep them are as rare as phoenix feathers and unicorn horns. The Flowering Tree has no blossoms when it withers. Its flowers bloom without warning, and its leaves fall without a sound. The flowers bloom in five colors; when the leaves fall, the blossoms die.
