Breaking Free

Marked as complete for now. I'll fill in the rest later. The stronger your abilities, the more restrictions you face. This is the cruelest truth in this world. People envy butterflies for their brilliant wings, but they never know how hard a caterpillar has to struggle to break out of its cocoon and become a butterfly. Yet not every caterpillar in this world becomes a butterfly. Some may turn into ugly moths. She is one of those moths, destined to walk only in the dark, moving between two worlds. She never dares hope for light or warmth, because they would blind her, leaving her to throw herself into the flames like a moth, without a second thought, only to be doomed forever. Before the age of nine, Ji Jie was always afraid she would become a monster. After she turned nine, Ji Jie realized she had been born a monster. In trying to uncover her origins and find her younger brother, she steps, bit by bit, into a web someone else has already spun. Will she trap herself in her own cocoon, or break free from it... Will she become the hunter or the prey... It seems this was never something she could decide. More to come if fate allows. Theme: Breaking the cycle
