First, a disclaimer: this is a short story with a dark tone and very little sweetness. Reiji here is closer to his cold, twisted portrayal in the original, with none of the gentle, goofy charm he shows in the later works. If you don't like it, please go easy on me and don't flame me.
What's the weirdest thing about the Pineapple System? No matter which option you choose, the story only goes in one direction. That would be one thing, but you can't unlock the next chapter unless you earn enough affection! Before I read a guide, I had no idea what to do. The endings are determined entirely by your S and M levels, not your affection level. (Though with low affection, you can't reach an ending at all.) So here's my theory: if the System were more flexible and you could reach an ending without meeting the affection requirement, would they all be bad endings?
Komori Yui is a sacrificial bride: first a sacrifice, then a bride.
To Reiji, she's delicious food and a toy for him to manipulate. She's about as far from a lover as you can get, but she still falls for him. As a result, she struggles in a love-prison where there's no hope in sight.
