"The Golden Lotus" Fan Fiction:

[Major revisions complete, this old project is back! Feel free to add it to your favorites if you're interested!]

[Originally titled "Seeing Through the World" and "How Do I Handle Being Sworn Brothers with Ximen Qing?"]

[An Unusual Blurb]:

Hua Jing's daily life:

1. Watching Ximen the scumbag's latest scandals and seeing the reborn Great Gentleman get into trouble in all sorts of ways;

2. Spoiling Pan Liu'er, who was born male, like a younger brother, and raising him to be an upstanding man;

3. Cleaning up the messes made by his sworn brother Wu Erlang after his fights;

4. Acting as his brothers' relationship counselor and scheming adviser, helping them come up with plans to solve all sorts of strange problems;

5. Serving as Uncle Lü's spirit pet, then finding out he also has to be his cultivation partner.

Hua Jing: I traveled back in time from the modern world to the era of The Golden Lotus to deal with my own problems. I didn't expect to be this busy every single day!

[The Regular Blurb]

For the sake of his own happiness, Hua Jing, haunted by resentful ghosts, returns to the Xuanhe era of the Northern Song dynasty. He only meant to take a look around, settle old scores, and leave without a trace. But through a twist of fate, he becomes sworn brothers with three oddballs and spends his days advising them on their love lives, getting caught up in their tangled romances and bitter entanglements. In the end, he can only throw his head back and sigh: "You scumbags, can't you just have a proper relationship?!"

He gets involved with a remarkable immortal. When the man has no interest in him, he's so aloof he can barely be bothered to respond. But when the tables turn and the immortal takes a liking to him, Hua Jing says, "Sorry, Great Immortal. There's someone in my heart. Go find someone else."

Main Couple: absolutely rational and composed Hua Jing (the uke) x absolutely indifferent and powerful Lü Zhongyang (the seme)

Reader's Guide:

First: At the author's discretion, some female characters from the original have been gender-swapped and made male.

Second: Couples. There is one main couple, three secondary couples, and several more minor couples.

Third: The main couple is mutually faithful and has a happy ending.

Fourth: The author loves beautiful men, so there are plenty in this story. Please don't complain that it's too idealized.

Fifth: I have no intention of whitewashing any characters. Most retain the personalities they had in the original, with some further development; a few will be changed.

Sixth: Ximen, the Great Gentleman, is an extremely important character who provides key clues. He appears frequently from beginning to end, but he is not the protagonist's love interest. Their relationship is strictly brotherly.

Theme: Love is about connecting hearts, not appearances.
