The Business Effect

Xie Zhenzhu, the eldest young master of the Xie family, was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. For 26 years, he'd lived a wild, extravagant life where he could summon wind and rain at will. His biggest setback had been the poor but beautiful male heartthrob at his high school: he'd followed him around from high school all the way through college, but still never managed to win him over. Then one day, his billionaire father dropped an explosive surprise in his lap. The devoted husband and loving father had run off with his mistress. The Xie family's vast business empire changed hands overnight, leaving him with a mountain of debt and a three-year-old illegitimate little brother. A down-and-out director who used to be so lowly he could only wag his tail at Xie now dared to approach him and ask him to act in his little no-name web series. But when Xie learned how much the pay was, he swallowed his pride and gave in, since he could barely afford his next meal. The first time he met his co-star, who was five years younger, he found out the guy was a junior at the very same university, currently in his second year. The director said he was another poor soul forced by money to take the job. The junior was very much Xie's type, but for some reason, he always glared at Xie and treated him coldly. One is strapped for cash, the other is drowning in debt, and it seems they even have some personal history. How are they supposed to create heart-fluttering chemistry for the cameras? Theme: Youth is tempered by setbacks and grows stronger, teaching us to love others and ourselves.
