Though he had grand ambitions to restore it to greatness, in truth, hardly a single day had gone well. Time and again, he thought he had reached the worst day of his life, yet somehow managed to put it off. But now, that worst day had finally arrived...

Knowing that his legitimate sons were doomed, Emperor Chongzhen arranged for his last group of trusted followers to smuggle four descendants of the imperial clan to safety, in order to preserve the Zhu bloodline. There is no need to seek each other out or reunite, and no need to seek revenge. From then on, live in peace and preserve a remnant of the Zhu family for the world.

This was a family legend from the Northern Road. Now, he and his little fangirl Chi Xiaohe had truly arrived in the Great Ming, in an age of turmoil.

The group encounters oddballs, breaks into the demon realm, brings peace to a haunted village, and causes a stir in the imperial capital. Without chaos in the Three Realms, how could such a turbulent world have come to be?
