Raising a Noble Consort

From a commoner girl fleeing to the capital, to the empress dowager who rules the realm, Chuxue spent eighteen years walking this road. She took someone else's place in the palace selection, thinking only that the palace would provide silver and wages, giving her father and younger brother a way to survive. After the emperor bestowed her upon Prince Yu, she had to deal with his concubines: ones who flaunted their powerful fathers, ones who were devious, and ones who were snobbish. Chuxue finally regretted it all. Damn it, even begging for food would have been better than staying here. Yet here, she eventually met the man who had always sheltered her from wind and rain. Perhaps it was all worth it after all. This novel is set in the Ming Dynasty, with a partly fictionalized setting.
