Purple (Zhi) is evil; white is righteous.
Born of the same father, but different mothers, their hearts are wounded.
They chance upon a fairy valley, and weep over their fated separation.
They put an end to love and loyalty.
May happiness last ten thousand years.
Cast down, they share the same fate.
Life and death divide them, but longing endures.
Heaven envies beautiful women, whose lives are often cut short.
All hope is destroyed before her lovely face.
She hates heaven, hates earth, hates fate.
Without complaint or regret, she becomes a concubine.
To gain and then lose it is despair.
She and her enemy perish together.
A mistaken mortal bond.
Weep for the beauty. (A Certain Clip: Gah! This is a poem I wrote for the novel. Thanks for reading. Applause, flowers! Reader: Hmph! A Certain Clip: ... ...)
