I waited seven days and seven nights. At last, I learned that he really was dead and would never come back.
Gu Nian, Gu Nian.
I clutched the quilt. The scent of Gu Nian on it had grown fainter and fainter. I had to use all my strength just to catch a trace of proof that Gu Nian had ever been there.
A warm, aching liquid ran from the corners of my eyes. Gu Nian, Gu Nian, Gu Nian, you were so cruel. I only neglected you for a few days, and this is how you punish me.
The wind is light, the rain falls hard, and plum blossoms fill the air. From now on, I'll never close the window at midnight.
There wasn't an option for short stories, so this is a spur-of-the-moment piece, probably only about two thousand characters long. It's essentially Lu Sheng's monologue after losing Gu Nian.
Background: Gu Nian is the bottom, and his martial arts are unrivaled. When Gu Nian was fifteen, he met thirteen-year-old Lu Sheng. Gu Nian fell in love with him. At first, they didn't know each other's identities: Gu Nian was the demonic cult leader whom everyone wanted dead, while Lu Sheng was an upright young man who aspired to become the leader of the martial world. They became good friends. And Lu Sheng was completely straight.
So Gu Nian silently protected Lu Sheng. Then, on Lu Sheng's eighteenth birthday, he had his way with him (and got topped). Since Lu Sheng didn't know how to face Gu Nian, he simply cut off contact with him.
For the next five years, Gu Nian came into Lu Sheng's room through the window every night. Lu Sheng had known all along, but still refused to get up and face him, until he found out that Gu Nian was the demonic cult leader rumored to have committed every evil under the sun. Then they began to love and fight each other.
This is the story of what happened after Gu Nian was hunted down by the martial world.
Theme: Live in the moment and cherish the person by your side.
