In 1941, a few days before Germany invaded the Soviet Union, five childhood friends met in Berlin to say goodbye to each other.
Wilhelm, a German Wehrmacht soldier who had a firm belief in the Nazis; Wilhelm's brother, Friedham, although he scorned the Nazis, was drafted to become a soldier; the beautiful and lively Greta, who dreamed of becoming a movie star; Charlotte also had firm beliefs in the Nazis, and she was determined to become a nurse to serve the people since she was a child; and the Jewish Victor, the son of a tailor shop owner.
The five people are best friends. They sang, danced, drank and celebrated on the eve of their departure, and agreed to meet again on Christmas.
Before the separation, they were both high-spirited young people.
After their separation, their fate was closely linked to this war.
