Daoist Qin An is a wandering immortal. Even after ascending thousands of years ago, he's still just a wandering immortal, yet he's on familiar terms with some of Heaven's biggest shots, all because he's a brilliant cook.
One day, Qin An was eating at a noodle shop in the mortal realm when Taibai whisked him up into the clouds and told him that his luck was finally turning. All he had to do was put Tang Sanzang through a tribulation, and he would ascend to immortality.
Qin An: I think being a Daoist is pretty nice.
Taibai chuckled and kicked him back down to the mortal realm, where he became a young novice monk at Jinshan Temple?
Qin An: I can't even be a Daoist? Why do I feel like I'm supposed to go on a pilgrimage with Tang Sanzang, instead of putting him through a tribulation?
With his excellent cooking, Qin An managed to win over the adorable young Xuanzang.
Every time he saw the young boy looking regretful after a meal, Qin An felt terribly guilty.
Qin An firmly remembered the principle that winning Tang Sanzang's stomach was the way to accompany him on his pilgrimage. He tackled every problem by taking charge of a big cooking pot, but gradually he realized that the young boy was no longer the innocent little boy he used to be. Only then did he learn what it meant to make a cocoon for yourself...
