The Northwest Prison is famous around the world. It holds death-row inmates from across the globe, and no one who enters has any chance of survival.
He Ning thinks it will simply be an ordinary hell on earth. But after he arrives, he discovers that even death-row inmates are squeezed for every last drop by the prison's management.
The prison has long been bought off by the wealthy at the top of the pyramid and turned into their playground.
The entire prison is divided into 99 levels, known as the Purgatory System.
The wealthy each choose a team of prisoners and throw them into the System to compete. Only those who clear it have a chance to survive.
As soon as He Ning arrives at the prison, he is selected for the most vicious team.
