Tu Mingzheng, courtesy name Yilang, fifth in birth order, born on the eighth day of the fourth month in the seventh year of Yongshou. His mother was Lady Shen, a Talented Lady.
His birth mother died young, his adoptive mother fell out of favor, his father didn't care for him, and his half-brothers were all too happy to kick him when he was down.
Everyone in the court and harem knew that the Fifth Prince was a nobody.
He might as well work diligently and keep a low profile, hoping only to earn a title and live an ordinary life. But he couldn't escape the intensifying struggle for the throne.
A father who wasn't a father, a son who wasn't a son, a ruler who wasn't a ruler, a subject who wasn't a subject.
Covered in blood and disgrace, Tu Mingzheng swore to the heavens: "You want my life? Then I'll claim the throne and make sure you all die miserably!"
Reader's Guide:
1. The main plot follows the male lead as he levels up and fights monsters. The romance may or may not be there, and may be straight or queer, so read with care.
2. The male lead is a native of this world, and his values aren't exactly proper.
3. This is a succession struggle built around Dream of the Red Chamber. The main plotlines involving the Grand View Garden and the Jia family come much later.
4. The author has a job now and can't promise daily updates, but will post at least weekly. A Fei has a good track record of finishing stories.
5. The author hasn't studied the original work closely. Please point out anything unreasonable, but don't attack me. Thank you.
