In 1793, Emperor Qianlong secretly ordered the Grand Council to go to Nanyang, then sent them on to the Northeast. There, the Grand Council's personnel came under threat from an unknown force, forcing the whole operation to be called off.
The Zhang family was swept into this maelstrom. Four generations gave their lives to reverse the course of history.
