A Fragrant Landing

A thousand years ago, the Great Xia dynasty stood at the height of its power. Its might inspired the wholehearted submission of every nation, and none dared challenge it. Yet this mighty dynasty mysteriously vanished on a stormy night, along with its palace and every record of its existence. From then on, it became a legend and a taboo.

A thousand years later, the forgotten dynasty is brought up again, setting off one turbulent and heartrending tale after another: a noble young master burdened by a thousand-year-old fate; a prince who lost everything after being caught up in a legend, now barely clinging to life; and a princess who was born to be a phoenix, yet fell into a life of debauchery. Their stories should have continued in tragedy and helplessness, until a girl with a gu-like cicada in her body and silver threads wrapped around her wrist entered the storm-tossed royal city of Chaisang. When blood falls to the earth and becomes incense, when threads and cicadas merge into poison, when black hair turns silver, and when blood-red flowers bloom among the thorns somewhere in the southern frontier, fate continues to run its course, but some things have changed... The will of Heaven, love and revenge, royal feuds, love and hate: please listen closely.
