I want to go see the sea in Sarajevo. I don't know if there's a sea there, but it's not as if you'd go anyway.
When I said that to you, what I really meant was: I know it's impossible, but I still like you.
Our English teacher asked us to work in pairs and improvise a dialogue around the prompt, "Would you like to do something with me?"
Xue Zaozao had just been angered by Shen Bancheng and didn't want to talk to him. But he kept asking what she wanted to do, so she rested her head on her desk and casually replied, "Go shopping."
"What? Go to Shenyang?"
Xue Zaozao secretly rolled her eyes, thinking Shen Bancheng might have something wrong with his ears.
But when the discussion time ended, the English teacher really did call on the two of them to answer.
Just as Xue Zaozao was about to make something up on the spot, she heard Shen Bancheng beside her ask, "Would you like to go to Shenyang with me?"
Suddenly, she felt that maybe Shen Bancheng didn't just have a problem with his ears. There was probably something wrong with his brain, too.
Xue Zaozao, gritting her teeth, replied, "Yes, I'd like to."
The English teacher stood at the front of the classroom, frozen for a few seconds. An awkward silence filled the air.
"Mm, very good. Class, those two just acted out a scene where a couple make a roundabout proposal. Let's give them a round of applause."
Xue Zaozao was dead inside.jpg.
Shen Bancheng: What the hell.
At school, we bickered and argued all the time, always thinking we'd meet plenty of better people in the future. Who could have guessed there would never be anyone better?
A tsundere's unrequited love story. But youth isn't just romance and melodrama. There's also three years of exam prep and five years of practice tests.
I dedicate this story to the youth that will never return, and to every you who sat beside me during those years.
