When the Bell Returns to the Ashen World

(I wrote around 80,000 words, then looked back and realized it was all rambling with almost no plot, so I'm not posting it. I need to sort out my thoughts and rewrite it later.) (Feel free to bookmark it if you're interested. I will write it.) Reader: This author is an idiot, and the protagonist is an idiot who thinks he can conquer the world. In short: "This is trash!" Author: If you can do better, then you write it. Reader: Fine, I will! And so, the reader transmigrated into the book. I look at all of you and see nothing but trash. I expect you see me and think I'm incredible. Zhong Er thinks he's steady, clever, and calm. He also knows how the story will unfold, so surely he'll crush the stupid protagonist, power up all the way, and reach the pinnacle of life! But gradually, he realizes... Something about this world seems wrong! Never mind all the hidden plotlines. Why is every character acting out of character? And why does the powerful being he thought was his golden finger seem more and more like a villain? Author: Apparently, this is a transmigration-into-a-book story. Reader: Ha. One book, one world; one thought, one lifetime. No one is truly a god. In this strange and shifting world, you and I are all pieces on a chessboard. Who seeks to destroy? Who stands guard? Listen: the tribulation bell rings from beyond the horizon... The love interest is not Li Changye. Readers who aren't very tolerant of the protagonist's personality should proceed with caution.
