Gathering Ferns

You are the crabapple blossoms, and I am uncut jade. The jade is still uncarved, and the blossoms have yet to bloom. Spring's profusion is borrowed; a drop of water brings its own benefit. The crabapple blossoms shine, and the uncut jade glows. Jade-hearted Wei, I wish to gather the shepherd's purse. Gather the shepherd's purse, gather the shepherd's purse; it has begun to grow. We say we will return, we say we will return, but the year is already drawing to a close. Gold and jade have no destined bond; wood and stone are bound by love.
