Concise version: A little fox demon's relentless plan to climb the ranks
Lighthearted version: She once thought she could live carefree forever, but reality hit her hard.
"Qing Li, run!" A petite figure stood in front of her, blood staining her vision. So she devoted herself to cultivation and embarked on a path no one else would choose.
After taking her revenge, she thought life would return to normal. But a raging fire razed her home to the ground. Her father and mother, her neighbors and friends, all those beautiful memories turned to ash.
Reality shattered her innocent dreams again and again. So she resolved to join the biggest power in the forest and work her way up from the bottom. They say one of the big bosses is a nine-tailed celestial fox.
And so the little fox set out to get promoted and earn a raise, become a big shot, take the CEO position, marry a certain gorgeous boss with fair skin, and reach the pinnacle of life. (Before Qing Li could come and marry the boss, the boss brought along her dowry, the entire Fox Mountain, and came to lie down obediently.)
Excerpt 1:
"Given how close I was to your parents, putting you up is no problem. But you can't live here for free." The boss gave her a calculating look. "You're young, but you have plenty of potential. Work for me to pay off your debt!"
I'll endure it! Isn't that child labor?! Qing Li had been about to thank him for saving her life. But now... To hell with his life-saving favor!
Excerpt 2:
The boss was sneaking around on the roof, her tail swaying as she stared straight into the house across the way. A group of demons whispered behind the building. A certain bear clapped his paws and said, "Oh, I get it. Brother Jiu, this is called..."
"Shut up. Yes, it's exactly what you think," another bear said, smacking him on the head.
Rustle, rustle.
"Shh, keep your voices down. The little fox will hear you." The boss frowned in displeasure. "And this isn't what you think it is. I'm just looking out for the people, checking whether our new little friend has settled in here."
Inside, Qing Li sat obediently in meditation, cultivating, completely unaware of what was happening outside her window.
A few things before you read:
1. I originally planned for this to be a sweet romance. If you get cavities, the author takes no responsibility! _(:з"∠)_
2. Whether the story is angsty depends on my mood. A little angst is good for the soul, hmm.
3. This is a new author's first project, so please bear with me. *Bows.*
4. All candid criticism is welcome. Let the storm come even harder! ( ?Д`)y━?~~
