I originally planned to set it in a fictional Song dynasty, but worried readers might complain or confuse it with real history, so I gave the dynasty a new name. This is the story of several people with unusual identities and different missions, surviving a chaotic age, fighting bloody battles in the martial world, and ultimately embarking on a quest to seize the throne. Great figures have always emerged from times of chaos. Whether protagonists or supporting characters, they each have a remarkable life of their own and compromises they cannot avoid.
