Waiting. The word seems extraordinarily long.
It may be a long time before he sees Sister Xue again, sees Aser again, sees Yun Zi again, sees Lilith again... and sees Slaine again. So, how long is a long time?
Nobody knows, but the one thing everyone does know is this:
Every day, people die, while the cries of newborns ring out amid the fires of war.
Earth and Mars have not gone to war, but in reality, the war has begun again. What is war? The traditional definition is "a military clash in which people die, with more than 1,000 casualties."
It looks like a farce, with the leaders of all three sides playing their parts with gusto.
But for those at the very bottom, the civilians and soldiers, this isn't a play. It's the reality of being torn apart from those they love.
