[The Female Imperial Consort] Twin Phoenixes

Feng Suzhen, daughter of the governor-general of Xiangyang, is a peerless beauty of outstanding talent and looks. She was betrothed to Li Zhaoting when they were children, but the Li family has recently fallen into ruin and is now destitute. Feng Suzhen's father dotes on his daughter and can't bring himself to decide what to do. Just then, Liu Wenju, the Grand Tutor's son, comes to ask for her hand in marriage. Determined to win the beauty, he secretly frames Li Zhaoting for murder. This reveals Liu Wenju's despicable nature to Feng Suzhen's father, who refuses to marry his daughter off to him. Liu Wenju then uses his family's influence to have him demoted and banished to a distant post. Feng's father falls ill and dies on the way. After burying her father, Feng Suzhen goes through countless hardships to evade the Liu family's pursuit. She disguises herself as a man, takes the assumed name Feng Shaoying, and goes to the capital to sit the imperial examinations. To her surprise, she places first, catches the emperor's eye, and is granted a princess's hand in marriage. I'm that (un)lucky princess. Reader's guide. New story in the works: Theme:
