As the world's one and only auspicious beast, the deputy of the God of the Gaps in Time and Space, and Gao Tianyuan's darling, Kamo Ruri spends her days lying flat, mooching meals at Mikage Shrine, and occasionally attending divine councils as a proxy.

One day, just after she'd taken two months off, her divine boss vanished while she was having tea. The time-space barrier cracked for reasons unknown, and the Dragon God next door asked her to come out of retirement.

With an opportunity this good, of course she had to make the most of it (and negotiate).

But after signing the agreement and teleporting to the mission site, she discovered that her powers had been restricted.

As an auspicious beast who's lived for over a thousand years, she wasn't worried about a little thing like that, even if she had no money and nowhere to live...

Good news: She met a handsome, long-haired man who'd been recruited by the neighboring organization.

Bad news: He was homeless too.

So, to undo their restrictions, they formed a temporary team and started fighting (farming) monsters (systems) to earn (exploit) fast (loophole) cash.

Today they save a curly-haired policeman, a few days later they rescue an undercover police officer, and some time after that they bring home a troubled student from a technical college...

You have to admit, there's something a little off about the way they exploit these loopholes.

As they kept at it, the time-space barrier would occasionally act up and randomly drop residents from other worlds into their path, trying to throw off her work schedule.

Cursed spirits, monsters, Hollows, and demons: all kinds of bizarre creatures gathered under one roof. The whole family was together, neat as can be.

Later, she discovered that everything was the result of a thousand-year conspiracy...

Four years ago, a brutal bombing took the young life of Kenji Hagiwara. When he opened his eyes again, a man calling himself the Dragon God had recruited him.

Four years passed in a flash. Kenji Hagiwara got an errand to pick something up, and when he stepped out, he discovered he couldn't get back.

Good news: He met a beautiful colleague he'd never seen before.

Bad news: She wasn't from around here.

So, to get back to their team as soon as possible, they formed a temporary group and started patching up a world on the verge of collapse.

Today they save a fellow from his class, a few days later they save another, and some time after that Kenji himself falls into a coma...

You have to admit, there's something a little off about the way they're patching things up.

As they kept at it, he realized he'd fallen for her. The object of his affection was that beautiful colleague, and the worst part was that she wasn't human: she was a fox spirit who'd lived for over a thousand years.

Kenji Hagiwara felt disillusioned. The one time he'd fallen in love, it was across species...

Just as he was wrestling with his feelings, he realized someone was trying to steal her away. He immediately understood how serious the situation was.
