A note before reading:
1. This is my first time writing a story. I've read a lot of Ping Xie fanfiction, so I wanted to try writing one myself. The story grew out of an idea I'd been mulling over for nearly four years, but I'm a chronic procrastinator with terminal laziness, so I never got around to writing it. I went over the outline again and again before settling on it. I was a terrible student, so there may be lots of plot holes and unreasonable parts. Updates may be slow, and the style might change as the story progresses. The characters might go out of character [I'll do my best to avoid that]. I haven't read all of The Lost Tomb: Reboot and Sand Sea, so my writing may not stick closely to the original. Please don't hold me to it, and I ask all the canon sticklers to go easy on me.
2. This is fanfiction set in modern times, with an alternate history, fake mysteries, tomb-raiding, and original characters.
3. Ping Xie is endgame, with neither role reversal nor breakup. If you don't like Hei Hua, feel free not to read. There may be other pairings too, but I haven't decided yet.
4. The story has both sweet and angsty moments, but the ending is definitely happy. If you don't handle angst well, rest assured and enjoy.
