Zhang Changgen was a simple, honest village boy who tended his own small plot of land, working from sunrise to sunset.
Since he hadn't even finished elementary school, he would drop by the village schoolhouse to listen to the children’s lessons whenever he had nothing else to do. His life was simple and untroubled.
Then one day, a new volunteer teacher arrived at the school: Shen Jun, a city boy with fair skin, handsome looks, and refined manners.
From then on, Zhang Changgen's life changed completely. At last, he learned what it meant to be a hypocrite.
Zhang Changgen: What does that mean?
Shen Jun: Well, you won't understand if I just explain it.
Zhang Changgen: Then what should I do?
Shen Jun: Put it into practice!
