Recommendations for Top-Pursue Stories

I will champion gong protagonists for ten thousand years! Every story I recommend is one I've read myself. They're mostly similar in type, but the writing in every story I've stuck with to the end is pretty good. I'll prioritize completed stories. I'll recommend ongoing ones if the author has a good track record, but not if they've been on hiatus for ages. Well, of course, some of these are ones I read a long time ago, so I might not remember them right away. I imagine most of you have already read most of my recommendations. It can't be helped: there are so few gong-focused stories, and there are only so many with good writing.
