[The Legend of Qin + Nine Songs of the Moving Heavens] Sipping Ink Beneath the Azure Sky

Time-Off Notice: The end of the year has me so busy I'm practically a dog, and it seems hardly anyone is reading or leaving comments, so I'm putting updates on hold for now. I'll be back after the New Year.

This story was originally titled A Green Robe Dipped in Ink, and has now officially been renamed A Sky-Blue Robe Dipped in Ink. "Azure Sky" can refer to the imperial capital or the court. In Zhang Yuangan's Song dynasty poem "Man Ting Fang: On a Birthday," it says, "Returning from court, the road to the azure sky lies smooth, and yellow clouds rise above the palace." It can also refer to a distinguished rank or top honors. In the Yuan dynasty play The Qujiang Pond, Shi Deyu writes, "One leap over the ten-thousand-zhang Dragon Gate, and the road to the azure sky will at last be reached." This is a story inspired by Han Fei from The Legend of Qin: Nine Songs. The plot will continue into the opening of The Legend of Qin, and it is a companion piece to [Mainly The Legend of Qin + Sword of the Third Master] A Song Without Parting. Each can be read on its own, but they are connected, so you can read them together. It tells the secret of the Azure Dragon's Seven Lodges and the elixir of immortality. This is the story of someone who can seamlessly go from being a male god to a complete nutcase.

At the end of the Warring States period, the world was in turmoil. Heroes rose up, and the Hundred Schools of Thought contended. Han Fei, born into the royal house of Han, always thought he would spend his life in court, working to strengthen his motherland. Then he met an extraordinary woman.

"Stutterer, do you know you stutter when you're nervous?"

"I, I only stutter when I see a pretty girl..."

**

"Stutterer, do you like me?"

"I do."

"Then why didn't you tell me sooner? That way, I could have known sooner that I liked you too."

**

"Changge, what exactly are the Azure Dragon's Seven Lodges?"

"Maybe it's the sky, maybe the earth, maybe this tree, maybe this river... or maybe it's me."

Han Fei had always believed there were no ghosts or gods in this world. But then he had a strange dream in which a dark bird brought him a baby girl.

"Why do you call me Father?"

"Because you're my father! I love you, Father!"

He thought the child would exist only in his dream. Little did he know that she would truly come into his life and change his future.

"Father, don't go to Qin, okay? It's no fun there..."

"I promise I'll come back from Qin. I promise..."

It turned out that a power beyond mortal understanding truly existed between heaven and earth, silently controlling the course of fate...

Happy ending, and I will absolutely never abandon this story, so don't hesitate to dive in! You can bookmark it now and read it once there's more to binge. The story opens with Han Fei at 18, Wei Zhuang at 9, Gai Nie at 8, Hong Lian at 4, and Zhang Liang still in his mother's womb. By the time the story reaches the events of The Legend of Qin: Nine Songs, Han Fei is 26, and the others will all be younger than they are in the series. Bai Feng is too young to appear in this story, so Mo Ya won't die.

Please don't leave low-effort comments. Long comments are always welcome. If you don't know what to write, you can always toss a gift and say hi.
