From This Day On, I Am Yours

Preface: This is a story with a male lead as the pursuer, and a plot-focused narrative. The love interest appears fairly late. The pairing is probably an older, sharp-tongued, secretly foolish pursuer versus a violent, troublesome love interest who seems to have sprung out of nowhere, even the ghosts wouldn't know where from. (What kind of character setup is that? I don't even know if I can write it! Ugh, my head hurts.) [Synopsis] After Yue Jianye died young, he became one of the Chosen and transmigrated to another world to become a feudal landlord (emperor). [The Protagonist's Mission] Win the favor of everyone under heaven, keep beautiful people close, take down his usurping rival, and do good that will benefit future generations. [The Protagonist's Achievements] His name will go down in history, his legacy will endure for ages, and his life will be complete and eventful. [Summary] First line: It's all tropes, nothing but tropes. Second line: It's common, incredibly common. In short: a wish-fulfillment story. [The Protagonist Has Something to Say] The Imperial Jade Seal is 50 cents apiece, cheap! Anyone want to buy one? Anyone? Eighty percent of the story is told in first person. This is also my first time trying to write at length in the first-person style, and I hope it makes for an enjoyable read. Theme: This time, the imperial robes weigh heavy on his shoulders.
