This was an idea I came up with in middle school. I had been turning it over for years, and after reading a great deal of material, I realized that what I imagined back then really was naive. Not only could the story’s setting never exist, the characters’ personalities didn’t make sense either. (Given those family circumstances and that social environment, how could people like that possibly exist?)
But I’ve finally written it, and I don’t want to make drastic cuts or revisions. If I changed it, it wouldn’t be this story anymore. Let these implausibilities ease some of the sadness in the story.
