"How I wish I could burn away with an unblemished heart,
roaring at the years that slipped by without my noticing;
how I wish I could break through that long, dark road,
rushing forward without a care in the world.
If I can't smile sincerely, if I can't feel love, I wish I could just...
I wish it could be that way."
Violet always gets caught up in one dangerous situation after another, and is rescued by a hero every single time.
After enough rescues, she ends up with a pile of date invitations:
At dawn, the Son of the Sun taps on her window and invites her to watch the sunrise.
By noon, New York's richest man, claiming to have another bout of angina, sends an urgent distress call.
As dusk approaches, America's sweetheart takes her to the cinema to revisit old memories.
The whole world has taken a number, and only the Bat family, still looking for a lane, are left winking at her.
"The woman standing before you is Miss Violet, the legendary Robin Killer who makes Kryptonians blush and swoon, the captain's first love, the tycoons' downfall, and the villain baiter!"
Violet: ?
"The poor superheroes are being toyed with in the palm of her hand."
(P.S. Violet is an absolutely wonderful woman, seriously.)
[Reader's Guide]
1. A full-on self-insert fantasy ahead. Pure romance fans who only read one-on-one pairings, please steer clear.
2. The setting draws on comics and movies, and isn't very accurate. The timeline is all over the place, so please treat anything that doesn't make sense as my own headcanon.
3. I couldn't find any superhero romance featuring the characters I like, so I wrote this just to indulge myself and warm my own heart. It's very casually written.
4. This author is a repeat offender when it comes to love triangles and multiple people vying for the heroine. The male leads are fair game for everyone. The DC and MCU characters are all innocent; only the author has a mind full of smut. I bow to you all in apology. If you can't accept that, run now.
5. The points above are all warnings. Please don't walk straight into the danger zone. Let's all be civil online.
