The first time Phaidros met Ye Lai, his junior, he felt as if he had caught the scent of fragrant tea from the East, with a hint of mystery.
To Ye Lai, Phaidros was like Italy's signature coffee, espresso: rich and smooth, irresistibly alluring.
In truth, Ye Lai was anything but a clear, delicate cup of tea. His mind held far more Western learning than Chinese classics. He might be able to recite a few Tang poems from memory, but he was even better at analyzing the classical poetry from Phaidros's homeland.
And Phaidros was no pure, extra-strong coffee, either. Ever since Ye Lai gave him the Chinese name Feizhuo, he had practically wanted to erase “Phaidros” and write those two neat, square characters in its place.
Yet Feizhuo still thought Ye Lai was the Longjing tea he drank every day, while Ye Lai still thought Feizhuo was the espresso whose fragrance drifted across the Apennines.
Are their two tastes truly as distinct as the Jing and Wei rivers, or do they simply each regard the other as someone far away?
Espresso and Longjing tea, Feizhuo x Ye Lai. A big dog and a hedgehog of a pair, two reserved young scholars, awkward (crossed out), with anxious hearts and minds. How many lifetimes will it take for them to renew their bond as lovers!
Main characters: Feizhuo (Phaidros), Ye Lai; supporting characters: Xisailuo, Ye Lai's mother, Severa, Gao Shenghan...
A serious drama focused on the stories of those around them, with a happy ending.
Inspired by a term paper on ethnology and anthropology. (Do you really expect me to write a bibliography? Heh.)
The wife is back and the duck rushes!
It's my first time posting a post, I'm a little nervous > < I originally planned to post it after I finished writing it, but in order to cure my procrastination, I posted a little bit more (but I still plan to keep a reserve of tens of thousands of words to avoid myself...) It seems that no one has noticed this article yet. I hope that one day someone will be able to read the words I coded and understand a little bit about my thoughts. I am still a newbie as a writer, but I have been a reader for more than 20 years. The words written by the great writers I admire (from Sophocles, Alexandre Dumas, Dickens, Feng Menglong, to The Cat Who Smiled at the Windy Red Night) have been with me for many years. I don't dare to get a glimpse of the deepest thoughts in their wonderful writing, but I hope I can understand their great feelings or exquisite thoughts. Yes, I believe that even novels should and can have depth. Taking a step back, let's not talk about novels, even small essays used for entertainment (just replace the words, you can understand it), can also carry depth. For example, "Jin Ping Mei", such as "Three Words"... So, with the arrogance of a novice (currently a novice, and will remain a novice for a long time to come), I hope to write something that is not just toilet paper literature. There may be some subtle emotions between officials and historians (a term called social life history...). I want to use my life to create, and imagine whether people in the future can understand the life of my group of people in my era just like reading "Three Words" to understand the bits and pieces of the era. (What a lofty dream...) Then talk about this article. There is no specific prototype for Ye Lai, but he has the shadow of many people around me. Many young scholars (perhaps it can only be said to be young teachers in colleges and universities?) Have the same temperament that Ye Lai has, but Ye Lai is special. Fei Zhuo also has the shadow of my friend, but he is still himself after all. Xi Sero is a collection of several lovely girls, but not all of them... In short, they are all people around us, and they are just themselves. The first time I wrote an article, I used the most familiar themes and character settings around me, shamelessly going in the same direction as Ye Lai (hehehehehe...). At first I wanted to write about the Antinous complex (probably like a beautiful Greek boy?), But later I surprised myself and chose a dark theme. Ethnography is not equal to anthropology - that is, I want to express the metaphysical characteristics of human body, genes, etc., And do not determine the spiritual level of human psychology and thought... Well, I originally wanted to use some allusions from classical literature and history, but after thinking about it, I thought it was too artificial... So I gave it up. Moreover, I am still a person who is still learning in the direction I am passionate about. If I quote historical examples and allusions inappropriately (and I have not deleted the written words), please bear with me and welcome your corrections! Thanks! ——(From a scumbag who is trying not to turn his novel into a thesis) Also steamed 2016 3 8
