At some point, a craze for "superhero-themed desserts" swept through New York.
That was when Steve's life began to change, little by little, because he met a young woman named Alyssa SugarRum.
She owned a dessert shop, and its best-selling item was the "Christmas Special Shield-Shaped Gingerbread Cookie"...
A little scene:
One afternoon, the shop door swung open, and golden sunlight carrying the spirit of New York flooded inside.
Alyssa looked at the handsome face of the man who had just arrived and smiled.
"Hi, Mr. Rogers. Good afternoon. Would you like some sugar, or a glass of rum?"
Steve's lips curled into a smile. He lifted the car keys in his hand and gave them a twirl. "Thanks, miss. No sugar, no rum. I'm here to take my SugarRum home."
Tips:
a. A lighthearted novella, with Captain as the love interest. Romance is the main focus, with a healing, sweet happy ending. Updates are irregular.
b. The heroine's surname, SugarRum, is made up of the words "sugar" and "rum." The author came up with it, and it probably doesn't exist in real life. But since there are people with surnames like Sugarman, perhaps someone really is called SugarRum... The surname was inspired by Blair's surname, Sugarman, in TK11 of "World Youth Talk."
