The Great Sage's Hair

A father-daughter slice-of-life story.

The Land God of the Peach Garden found a little monkey while keeping watch over the grounds. Though she could change her form into a human, her true nature was that of a monkey.

You can believe that bugs grow on peach trees, but how could monkeys grow there?

The Queen Mother refused to believe it. She was convinced that the monkey from the Western Heaven had sneaked in again and shed hair on the ground.

So they escorted the little monkey to Mount Ling. Right in front of all the Buddhas, her eyes lit up. She let go of the hand of Third Prince Nezha, who had been leading her, and toddled straight toward Victorious Fighting Buddha.

The little monkey tilted her head at Victorious Fighting Buddha. He looked at her with an expression too complicated for words. After a while, the little monkey smiled, her eyes narrowing, and called out, "Dad."

All the immortals and Buddhas present were delighted to see the trouble unfold.

So the Monkey King's descendant is going to have to raise a kid?
