"An old-school story"
When you rule the world, let me make a home of all under heaven.
Gu Xiaolou woke up one morning to find herself lying in a mass grave?
Gu Xiaolou had been barely alive, but the sight terrified her so badly she sat bolt upright, as if on her deathbed, and cried, "Help me up. I can do this!"
From then on, she concealed her name, disguised her appearance, and set out on the path of a strategist, enduring hardship and danger amid flashing blades...
P.S. 1. The female lead's mother is on her side; the male lead's stepmother isn't.
2. Strong male lead and strong female lead, lovers who clash as fiercely as they love.
3. Suspense draws you in, power struggles bring it to a close. The female lead is career-minded, and the male lead is even more ambitious than she is.
4. This book may disappoint you in every way, but the male lead's later characterization won't. (Half-joking.)
I wasn't very happy with the first half of this book, but the second half is pretty good (starting with the coercive courtship in Chapter 41).
If you happen to enjoy it, this author will be overjoyed. Thank you!
Here's the blurb for my upcoming story, Her Arrogant Ways:
Li Youwei was born into one of the Five Great Families and was one of the most highly regarded young noblewomen in Chang'an.
Yet one day, she became a candidate for her family's first marriage between a noble clan and a commoner family.
One day, Li Youwei went to a temple to pray for good fortune. While strolling through the woods, she said to her maid, "I only hope Uncle doesn't choose me. Everyone says that Pei Yizhi is nearly perfect apart from his background, but I'm not impressed. Who in this world is truly perfect? I bet he's very good at hiding his flaws. He might have some dark side he never shows anyone..."
Hidden behind the trees, Pei Yizhi quietly listened to the whole conversation and took note of this young lady surnamed Li, seventh in her family.
Later, Li Youwei outdid all the others and was selected.
On their wedding night, her "perfect" husband said to her, "Rumors can't be trusted. The truth is, your husband has a dark side he keeps hidden..."
Li Youwei smiled awkwardly. "You must be joking, husband..."
A future chief minister from a poor family x a haughty beauty from a powerful clan
[A scheming male lead and a mischievous female lead face off]
Set in a fictional world inspired by the Tang dynasty. Please add it to your collection! I'll start writing once I have enough interest. More of the blurb will be revealed later.
Also, the background images for the covers of my upcoming stories next door were made by Changyi. Many thanks!
Theme: Better to build a career than fall in love
Nice! Finally finished reading it off and on! The ending is pretty good!
Be more sophisticated, don't mind, just provide an idea. If Zheng's daughter didn't have that childhood sweetheart, how would the male protagonist choose? I suddenly want to know. Responsibility and love, what would an ambitious, well-prepared man choose?
I thought the heroine went back to find her master outside the Great Wall, and then started to stir up troubles in the desert and make a career. It turned out to be bloody amnesia. . .
Please save the next ancient Chinese novel "She is Pampered" [Xingxingyan]
[The future chief minister of the poor family and the arrogant daughter of the high family]
Li Youwei was the top noblewoman in Chang'an City, but she suddenly became one of the candidates for the family's first marriage between descendants.
One day, Li Youwei went to the temple to pray for blessings and said to her maid while walking in the forest: "I only hope that my uncle will never choose me. Everyone says that Pei Yizhi is almost perfect except for his birth, but I don't care. Is there any perfect person in this world? I guess this person must be very good at hiding, and there may be some unknown dark side behind him..."
Pei Yizhi from behind Lin listened quietly to the whole process and took note of the lady named Li Xingqi.
Later, Li Youwei beat everyone and was successfully selected.
On their wedding night, her 'perfect' husband said to her: "The rumors are not credible. In fact, my husband has some unknown dark sides..."
Li Youwei smiled awkwardly: "Husband must be joking..."

I felt so good after reading the whole book at once
It was so enjoyable to read it all in one sitting! The most regrettable thing about this book is that it started low and started high. Not only did it not end badly, it became more and more exciting as it went on. The struggle for power after entering Beijing was really thrilling to me!
There are also emotional scenes, which are a bit abrupt at the beginning, but are absolutely beautiful later on. It would be nice if there were more of them!
I love this kind of ambitious and awesome male protagonist.
First of all, congratulations on the completion of this novel. It is my first time to catch up on updates in Jinjiang. The feeling of daily anticipation and suffering is coming to an end. The ending ended too cleanly. The last few chapters of the male protagonist's narrative were a bit too long, but there was nothing wrong with it. After all, it was not a scene between the male and female protagonists. I wish it could be shortened. The ending ends a bit abruptly, but it allows us to stretch our imagination a little bit. It feels good to not be married or anything like that, so let's leave it to our own imagination. I really like the few interactions between the male and female protagonists, and it fits the personalities of these two characters very well. I especially like Chapter 71. I just hope that a little more content between the two can be added.
Xiaoxian takes a day off today and will update as normal tomorrow. Everyone should go to bed early.
