City Lord's Residence Series
Blurb:
To cut a long story short, the current acting City Lord of the City Lord's Residence, Luo Lin, is overwhelmed by her many duties. One day, a year after taking office, she decides to abandon this mess for a while and go on vacation.
Simply put:
Skipping work! Taking a vacation! Double the fun!
When her secretary catches her and drags her back to work overtime, she still brags:
I even found a wife!
Then she's plunged right back into overtime hell.
As the title says, this is the first honeymoon trip of her busy life.
Rambling and warnings:
1. Restarting this story. Let's see when I quit my job and settle into a stable update schedule. Updates are irregular, possibly weekly. If there's no update by 7 p.m., there won't be one that day.
2. The author has issues and is extremely attached to the protagonist. I may occasionally lean toward putting her through hardship. The angst in this story comes from the setting, and is about as strong as matcha powder in a dessert.
3. The romance is strange. It's vaguely hinted at in the main text, but it is there.
4. The main plot moves slowly. There are only seven "episodes," and the story will end once they're done. Expect a huge number of odd, not necessarily explained, setting details, and a stream-of-consciousness, artsy style that is a chronic condition.
5. This story has two protagonists, Luo Lin and Cheng Yi. The main plot will end before their romance officially begins, and the details of their relationship won't appear in the main text. The ending is Luo Lin being dragged back to work, so if you see someone come along to demand she get back on the job, it means the story is nearly over.
6. In addition to the warnings above, the blurb is seriously misleading. I don't recommend reading the whole thing, but if you think you might like it, feel free to come chat with me.
7. If this seems familiar... well... I doubt there are other romance stories this dry. As for the setting, what a merciful soul! Let me have a bite!
A disclaimer: I am very, extremely bad at writing sweet romance, but I want to finish these stories. And the way these characters fall in love may be a little strange, with more emphasis on the exchange and merging of their ideas and values. If you have questions while reading, I'll decide whether to revise or explain as needed. If this makes you uncomfortable, can we each just go our own way in peace?
Reading should be a pleasure, like enjoying a meal. My pot may taste strange, but I'm not trying to poison anyone.
Theme: You don't get to choose your birth, but every person's life belongs to them alone.
