One person's experience. People are truly strange creatures. They can only ever see the tiny sliver of light right in front of them, letting the darkness swallow them up while smugly congratulating themselves on the parts that haven't rotted away.
An older work by the author, My Childhood Friend:
I like you best in this world, because you are the only one in the whole world.
Xuelun and Bopi were born on the same day of the same month in the same year, and as luck would have it, they became neighbors. From that day on, their hilariously awkward romance began. One is little Xuelun, afraid of this and that, with only two things she can't do: this and that. The other is Bopi, who can do anything, except for two things: make Xuelun sad and stop drawing. This is the story of their little life together and all the troubles that come with being alive.
A lad rides in on a bamboo horse, while his beloved makes plum wine. Their love grows sweeter and sweeter, and the red maple leaves blush shyly. (How's that? This is something I came up with myself, though it might not fit the format.)
It'll go something like this:
1. Xuelun: Bopi, I'm hungry. I want to eat...
Bopi rolls up his sleeves: Okay.
2. Xuelun can't write: Bopi, draw me something to inspire me.
Bopi rolls up his sleeves: Okay.
3. Xuelun gets a paper cut: Waaaah...
Bopi rolls up his sleeves: There, there. Put on some ointment and it'll stop hurting.
4. ...

Can I say that I was abused? (><) My glass heart. I originally thought that after revenge, I would marry a wife and have children, and then the male and female protagonists would be happily together. I didn't expect it. The author is so grateful (≧▽≦)/
