Returning with the Wind

“The wind is rising.” “Yes, my king. Shall we head back?” “Listen. It sounds like someone is singing.” “Perhaps it's the Chile people. Every one of them is a singer. If you'd like to hear them, my king, I'll have someone bring them here.” “No need. Go on ahead. I want to be alone for a while.” “Yes, my king.” In the distant night wind, people could be heard singing: “Let the wind return, let the wind return, May all the world return with the wind; Let the wind return, let the wind return, May bygone days return to dust.” Tuoba Gui: Perhaps history's most famous posthumous child. At six, his family and kingdom were destroyed, and he struggled to survive under a crushing burden. Perhaps history's youngest founding king. At fifteen, he reclaimed his kingdom and restored his state, fighting east and west until he founded Northern Wei and dominated the north. Murong Chong: Nicknamed Fenghuang, he was the most beautiful man of the Sixteen Kingdoms period. Overnight, he went from prince to imperial catamite. Ten years later, he rode into battle and, drenched in blood, claimed the throne. The song of the time went: “Phoenix, phoenix, why not fly high and return to your homeland? Why stay here and meet your doom?” Helian Bobo: This murderous king, who vowed to unite the ten thousand cities of the world, whose imperial clan was illustrious and whose name reached up to heaven, was blessed with magnificent looks, the iron will that founded Xia, and a bloodthirsty cruelty… Amid the terror he inspired in the people of Guanzhong, who could still remember the free-spirited ten-year-old boy, playing his reed flute? P.S. This is a story set during the Sixteen Kingdoms period. It draws on history, but it isn't a history book. P.P.S. No danmei, just romantic tension. ^-^ Hahaha, the first volume is being published! Purpose:
