[Reversed Dream of the Red Chamber] Female Baoyu

Though the roles are reversed, the two genders remain true to their nature. Though she transmigrates, the ways of the world remain much the same. She transmigrates as Jia Baoyu, born female. At first, all she wants is to thrive in this strange new world. But later, she discovers that she's unwittingly stepped into a web of schemes. Behind the grand gates, all is glittering on the surface, while corruption festers within. The powerful live amid lavish riches, with splendor piled upon splendor. Who could call this a peaceful, prosperous age, all flowers and finery? When the great house begins to crumble, where can she go? What she wants and what she must do, what she dreams of and what she receives... When she finally wakes from the dream, she realizes she's already lost control of her fate, with no way back. A few things to know before reading: 1. This is not a woman transmigrating into a man. The setting is a matriarchal society in a feudal era, where women's power is beginning to grow. 2. Some major characters from the original novel have their genders reversed. Women still give birth. 3. The characters' personalities may be out of character due to changes in social background and gender. Please read with caution if that bothers you. 4. Some plot points follow literary scholars' research on Dream of the Red Chamber, rather than the original book. 5. This is more of a pseudo-fanfic, so fans of the original should read with caution.
