Four Seasons: Pastoral Miscellany

In her previous life, her father didn't care for her and her mother didn't love her. She thought being reborn would mean a life of comfort. All she wanted was to live quietly as a merchant's daughter, with enough food and clothes, and raise a husband who would stay by her side for their whole lives, with her as his one and only. Who could have guessed that the husband she'd picked out would suddenly become the Crown Prince, turning her broad, easy road into the winding, rugged path of household and palace intrigue? What should she do? What should she do? With no great ambitions, Xia Miaomiao decided she might as well go farm. At least she could stay alive, right? But farming wasn't as easy as someone who couldn't tell garlic shoots from scallions might imagine. There wasn't enough to eat or wear, and her brother-in-law and neighbors looked down on her. Hmph! She'd stood on the shoulders of giants for so many years. She refused to believe she couldn't keep this family fed! * Slow burn, very slow burn. * The author wanted to write a sweet, lighthearted life story about a clever heroine, but her intelligence is worrying, so the end result is a silly, sweet heroine. Read with caution!
