The Concubine-Born Young Lady

The Concubine-Born Young Lady: Her father is the Vice Minister of Rites, and her grandfather is a former Grand Secretary and the current Imperial Tutor to the emperor's sons. Her third paternal aunt is the Marchioness of Xiangyang, and her fourth paternal aunt is the Princess Consort of Prince Kang. Her life sounds absolutely perfect. But she's a concubine's daughter. Though her family dotes on her and her stepmother doesn't dare mistreat her... In an era that distinguishes between legitimate and concubine-born children, being born to a concubine is a wound that Honghong carries in her heart forever. This marriage is one she schemed to arrange herself, but why isn't it turning out as she imagined? After all the fuss, she suddenly discovers that her father isn't her real father, and her mother isn't her real mother either! She's not a concubine's daughter at all. →_→ If she'd known, she wouldn't have gone to all that trouble to marry this jerk... The jerk says: I never imagined anyone could love me so deeply. Despite my dreadful reputation, you treat me with such devotion and never give up on me. How could I betray your heartfelt love? As your husband, I will be faithful to you alone, shield you from hardship, and protect you for the rest of your life. Um, you've got it all wrong. Is it too late to break off the engagement now... This book's blurb has been up for five years. Thank you to all the readers who've been waiting for it. Given the current tastes on JJ, I'll make a few changes to the characters to keep up with the times. I'll try to finish the entire draft in 2020.
