They say the years slip quietly by like water. A tabloid reporter might think so, too.
If a tabloid reporter were to write their story, perhaps it would begin like this: borrowing the opening of A Tale of Two Cities, everything described in superlatives. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was a season when everyone could go to school, and a season when no one could find a job.
This isn't a true story. It's all made up. We can imagine a formidable couple who are this clueless. We all wish we could be them, but they exist only in a story.
So keep reading, and see what happens.
Theme:
If it were a novel, the plot would be a bit confusing, especially at the end! I like the sentence at the end, "The years have already flowed out of my fingertips"
