A story about a Kunlun slave and a descendant of the Wu family
A young black slave, sold away from his home, leaves the tranquil South Seas for the colorful Tang Empire. Stubborn and strong, he is growing up.
A noble young woman of the Wu family goes from a pampered daughter to a swordswoman roaming the jianghu. Patient and steadfast, she is growing up, too.
And him, and her, and many others...
Eight years after Wu Zetian’s death, in the wake of the extraordinarily splendid Tang Empire, the lost imperial power is like a succulent piece of meat. Ambition and desire fill every pair of bloodshot eyes. Our story begins here...
P.S. This novel is a tribute to a period costume drama from Singapore that I watched as a child, Kunlun Slave. Sadly, it has all but vanished, and I can’t find a single complete episode online. I still clearly remember Moller’s curly hair and his long-suffering, tormented expression (I just love seeing handsome men suffer. It’s a twisted hobby, but I can’t help it), as well as Zhang Ying, Hongxiao, and the many other memorable characters and scenes.
I’ll try to stick to history, with the occasional bit of artistic license. Every plotline is about one thing: love!
This is my first attempt, so please go easy on me!
A romance with martial arts and palace intrigue. Pure wish fulfillment, so don’t read if it’s not your thing!
