Prologue: They say that on the vast Central Plains, where people gathered thickly, the land was divided into five regions, each controlled by one of the five great clans: the Yuan Residence of the Metal element, the Song Residence of the Wood element, the Tang Residence of the Water element, the Ming Residence of the Fire element, and the Qin Residence of the Earth element. In addition, two sacred sites stood at the northernmost and southernmost ends of the Central Plains: Snowpeak Mountain and Yu Mountain. Snowpeak Mountain belonged to the Yin element, while Yu Mountain belonged to the Yang element. Not only commoners but even the five great clans regarded the chance to cultivate at a sacred site as the highest honor. Then one day, war broke out between the human and demon realms. In the end, the two sacred sites joined forces with the five great clans and used the spiritual power of the Five Elements Orbs to seal the passage between the human and demon realms. Yu Mountain was put in charge of guarding it, and peace returned to the human realm, until eighteen years later...
